Woven
Verge Gallery, Sydney. April 2017.
A group exhibition alongside Ida Lawrence, Alfira O'Sullivan, Leyla Stevens, Kartika Suharto-Martin and Mashara Wachjudy.
Woven is an exhibition and performance event that ties together the practices of six female Australian artists who each have personal connections to Indonesia.
Two works were exhibited as part of Woven that explore the relationship between Australians, Bali and the possible side effects of tourism and exchange between the two. A series of photographs of observations around tourism hubs in Bali, as well as a Bali edition of an ongoing text-based work Local Lingo. Local Lingo (Bali) is a set of postcards that presents quotes I overheard in areas of exchange between locals and foreigners.
